Another tanker greenback walleye from the Red River in Manitoba. What a memory for this lucky angler! Manitoba master angler program

@ 70cm this is a small MB master angler greenback walleye. Our master angler program here in MB is one of the oldest and most popular larger fish recognition programs in North America. Founded in Neepawa 1961 by that town's Game and Fish Association, The infamous writer/angler Bill Robinson would be a strong proponent. His little fishing memoire, "Rather Fish than Eat" only hints st the program as it related to rainbow trout that were planted and caught from the town's little lake Irwin.

Draw down on the red river

Temps are starting to cool down here in Manitoba. Draw down has begun on the Red River with current greater than we've seen all Fall. The bite is shallow and steady.

Good fishing on the Red River

Earlier this week the weather made fishing a bit tougher. With the boat swinging in every direction getting a good hook set can be a challenge.

Walleye for the table

Limits of "eater" walleye are common these days. Guests have an opportunity to enjoy their catch at home.
