As Winter wears on the walleye seem to be deeper in general. We'll often fish down a bit deeper 12-16 feet - and even deeper when required (#2 biggun from the past weekend).

Lake Winnipeg Creel Census

One aspect of Lake Winnipeg that always amazes is the opportunity for large walleye. Despite a reported lower creel census this past summer the lake is alive/well and still producing above a longer term historical average. 

Ice fishing Lake Winnipeg

Lake Winnipeg 13" of ice - (travel at your own risk) and I was able to get anywhere I wanted. Everywhere I stopped I would pick up a couple of active walleye.
